As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our financial integrity. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will oversee all aspects of financial management, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and contribute to achieving our organisational goals.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Manage all areas of finance, including financial accounting, reporting, planning, analysis, and tax.
  • Review and improve financial reporting systems to ensure a high level of internal control.
  • Maintain sound financial processes and procedures, including the operation of relevant financial reporting systems.
  • Meet the financial reporting requirements of the organisation including monthly management reports and other requested reports.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for all entities, including profit & loss review.
  • Ensure monthly General Ledger reconciliations are completed for each business
  • Handle vehicle administration and records maintenance, including registrations, leasing, and insurance claims.
  • Prepare KPIs for monthly Board pack and monthly cash flow reporting
  • Perpare and submit BAS for each business unit and assist with FBT preparation.
  • Maintain the company's fixed asset registers.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in delivering annual budgets, statutory accounts, and external audit requirements.
  • Bank payment authorisation in the abscence of the Financial Controller.

 

About you

 

  • Hold a degree in Accounting, complemented by CPA qualification. 
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Demonstrated experience using an ERP system within a mid to large-size business environment. 
  • An excellent working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
  • High level of written, oral, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to lead and work both independently and in a team. 
  • Ability to maintain and update Policies and Procedures.
