PC Technician

We have an immediate need for a talented PC Technician to support the Rocky Mount, NC location.  This position will be responsible for providing technical support to internal computer users.  In a collaborative manner, the PC Technician answers questions and/or resolves computer problems for internal customers in person, by telephone or virtually.  May provide assistance in the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, e-mail and operating systems.  Additional duties include but are not limited to:

  • Administers end-user workstations and supports their activities using TCP/IP on a primarily Microsoft Windows-based local area network (LAN).
  • Sets up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
  • Installs and performs minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
  • Identifies and procures the computer hardware, accessories, supplies and software needed to satisfy user requirements
  • Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications and periodically performs software updates.
  • Coordinates activities with network services and information systems group.
  • Connects users to networks and provides initial training in facilities and applications.  Provide computer orientation to new and existing employees.
  • Administers e-mail, VOIP, anti-virus and configuration management systems.
  • Investigates user problems and identifies their source; determines possible solutions; tests and implements solutions.
  • Installs, configures and maintains personal computers, Windows networks, Apple workstations, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices and systems; adds or upgrades and configures disk drives, printers and related equipment.


The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • A+ certification and MCSA workstation test certification
  • A.S. degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience troubleshooting PC hardware and software, laser jet printers, VOIP phones and network connectivity issues
  • Able to work independently and within a team
  • Skilled in oral and written communication, judgement and decision making, organizational skills
  • Customer service skills are required, along with ability to maintain confidential information
  • Advanced computer skills, including Excel, Word and Power Point required.
  • Able to report to work regularly and within defined schedule.
  • Able to visit internal customers in their work area in a manufacturing environment which may involve stairs, inclined walking surfaces, etc.
