Commercial Insights Specialist

Position Overview

You will be the connective tissue between data and commercial action across three insight domains:

Customer insights: who our customers and prospects are, how they behave across the journey, what they need, and where we win or lose them – drawing on behavioral and transactional data as well as the voice-of-the-customer evidence compiled from our listening initiatives (NPS, surveys, interviews, reviews and service feedback).

Product and portfolio insights: how our products and segments perform in the market, where demand is heading, and what the data says about portfolio gaps and opportunities.

Market and competitor insights: how our market is evolving, what competitors are doing, and what it means for our positioning, pricing and go-to-market choices.

What you will do

Generate and share insights

  • Analyze customer, campaign, web, channel, lead flow, content, product and competitor data to identify patterns, opportunities and risks, translating them into clear recommendations rather than raw numbers.
  • Build and nurture a continuous insight flow for marketing, sales, product marketing and commercial leadership: insight briefs, performance narratives, trend digests and competitor updates.
  • Present findings to stakeholders in regular insight reviews and business meetings, using storytelling and visualization to make complex data understandable and persuasive.
  • Own the “so what” of every analysis: a clear recommendation and its expected impact – the action itself is defined and owned by the receiving team.
  • Act as a sparring partner for stakeholders, challenging assumptions and proactively bringing insights to teams before they ask for them.

Customer and market listening

  • Develop a consolidated view of customer segments, needs and behaviors across markets, combining CRM, campaign, web and sales data with the voice-of-the-customer evidence compiled from our listening initiatives (NPS, journey and feedback programs).
  • Translate VoC findings into commercial implications – targeting, messaging, retention and growth plays – in close collaboration with the customer insights team that compiles the customer voice.
  • Give the teams running VoC initiatives constructive feedback from the commercial perspective: which customer signals are most useful for commercial decisions, which questions remain open, and which data is missing – no specific knowledge of their initiatives is required, only the ability to articulate what would make the input more complete and actionable.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor moves, pricing signals and industry developments relevant to our segments and regions, turning them into actionable market intelligence.
  • Support win/loss analysis, campaign post-mortems and customer journey reviews to surface what drives or blocks conversion, retention and satisfaction.
  • Bring the voice of the customer into commercial and product discussions through structured, evidence-based inputs.

Product and portfolio analysis

  • Analyze product, segment and portfolio performance to identify growth opportunities, underperforming lines and emerging demand signals.
  • Partner with product marketing and product management to validate assumptions with data and inform positioning, messaging and roadmap discussions.
  • Track how products perform across channels, regions and customer segments, and translate findings into portfolio recommendations.

Data and analysis foundations

  • Maintain the dashboards, reports, KPI definitions and data dictionaries that make insights reliable and repeatable, ensuring reporting inputs are complete, consistent and ready for analysis.
  • Perform data quality checks across sources, covering completeness, accuracy, duplicates, outliers and inconsistent definitions, so every insight can be trusted.
  • Support reporting automation, self-service analytics and continuous improvement of analytics processes and data governance routines.
  • Coordinate with campaign operations, digital, CRM, sales, product marketing, content, DAM, finance and market stakeholders to clarify definitions, requirements and data ownership.

What we require

Experience and education

  • Proven experience in market intelligence, customer insights, marketing or commercial analytics, competitive intelligence, or insights roles within a corporate, agency or shared services environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of not just producing analysis, but getting it used: insights picked up by commercial, marketing, product or leadership teams.
  • Experience with customer, campaign, product and market data sources, including CRM, web analytics, marketing automation, customer feedback data, and competitor or market research tools.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Market Research, Finance, Information Management or a related field preferred. BI, data visualization, market research or insights certifications are an advantage.

Skills and capabilities

  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills: able to move from scattered data points to a clear, decision-ready insight and recommendation.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling: able to present insights to non-analytical audiences in a concise, engaging and action-oriented way, in writing and in person.
  • Advanced Excel skills and practical experience with BI, dashboarding or reporting tools such as Power BI, CRM dashboards, web analytics or marketing automation reporting.
  • Solid understanding of commercial, marketing, product and market dynamics, including how to interpret trends, competitive moves, customer feedback and behavioral signals into business implications.
  • Curiosity and commercial instinct: genuinely interested in customers, products and the market, and motivated to find the story behind the data.
  • Collaboration skills: able to work with the teams that run listening initiatives and own customer touchpoints, and to give them constructive feedback on what data is useful or missing for commercial decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail in data quality, KPI definitions, naming and version control, balanced with pragmatism about what is good enough to act on.
  • Structured way of working with the ability to manage recurring insight cycles, ad hoc requests, stakeholder questions and data issues in parallel.
  • Fluent business English required. Additional market languages are an advantage depending on scope.

What makes you stand out

  • Experience in competitive intelligence or market research in B2B or industrial environments.
  • Experience bringing insights into product, pricing or go-to-market decisions.
  • Experience translating customer feedback findings into commercial action.
  • Familiarity with the access solutions, security, building technology or related industries.
