Installation Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Installation Technician to join our team in New York. This position is responsible for servicing and/or installig a variety of automated doors and related equipment, materials, and control devices.

The pay for this role will range from $35/hr. to $40/hr. (Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Carry out corrective service and preventative maintenance on a range of automated access doors and equipment in a professional and customer-oriented manner
• Operate company owned vehicle to job locations
• Install dormakaba products in commercial buildings
• Provide servicing customer equipment to the customers’ ongoing satisfaction and setting minimum performance standards
• Project a positive image to customers through exceptional service practices, professional personal presentation, and thorough communication
• Maintain accurate service data through diligent and timely use of all service documentation and technical tools
• Manage assigned parts and consumable stocks effectively
• Communicate with Sales and Service management about customer feedback and sales opportunities

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• Valid current driver’s license and demonstrated history of safe driving
• Mechanical knowledge, 3-5 years relevant experience

WHAT WE PREFER

• Electrical license or knowledge of basic electronics and electrical theory, principles of microprocessor-controlled equipment and multi-meter instruments, or AAADM certification
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Ability to use electronic devices such as tablets and smartphones
