POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking an AVP, Industrial Engineering to join our Operations team in Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for the manufacturing footprint strategy, capital planning and implementation, core vs non-core capability definition, advancement of core capabilities, vertical integration vs. sourcing determination, process capability improvement, and general manufacturing strategy harmonization with long term business commercial planning.  The position will drive the core plant culture, grow the strategic manufacturing competencies, and oversee our core Lean strategies to drive achievement of division’s goals for the P&L (Profit and Loss), including GM, COGS, and SG&A.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Drives manufacturing excellence and design operation system (e.g., shopfloor management system, Kata, Hoshin Kanri, Value Stream focus, embrace lean culture and competency development), pull in relevant expertise (i.e., global/local) to deliver net productivity target & reduce cost to offset inflation
  • Task to lead strategic supply/sourcing, manufacturing footprint projects at Americas level and coordinating with other segments
  • Collaborates with global Manufacturing network strategy and footprint (Lead major capital investment)
  • Modernizes and implements tasks as defined in Shape-4-Growth projects
  • Responsible for all LEAN and Advanced Manufacturing projects, including facility moves, infrastructure, and core operational projects
  • Implements plant optimization plans and strategies

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering or Business Administration required. 
  • Master’s Degree and / or Lean Six Sigma Black Belts is highly desirable
  • Minimum of 15 years manufacturing and assembly experience with > $100M revenue levels
  • Parallel plant operations, start up, and closure operational management
  • Demonstrated increasing levels of management experience and full P&L management
  • Experience meeting compliance and EH&S (Environmental Health and Safety) requirements for OSHA, UL, ISO, and Sustainability
  • Plant level experience in vertical integration and assembly centers
  • Experience staff Advanced Manufacturing teams and functions.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to develop cross-functional teams and partnerships.
  • Experience with facilities physical infrastructure, maintenance, employee safety and security
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (One-on-one as well as group interaction)
  • Skills or experience with personal computers, including electronic E-mail, personal scheduling, word processing and electronic spreadsheet skills
