dormakaba is seeking 2nd Shift Machinists to join our Manufacturing team in Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for fabricating, repairing, and assembling metal parts by operating mechanical equipment.


dormakaba is seeking to hire Machinists in the following classifications:


Machinist I - Entry Level - Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.


Machinist IIMid-Level - May also provide training to lower - level machinists. May require 1-3 years of related experience.


Machinist III - Experienced Level - Has gained mastery skills in multiple competencies relevant to the job. May require 4+ years of related experience.


Machines may include but not limited to:

• Auto Combinating

• Auto Key


• Finishing

• Paint & Powder

• Plating

• Punch Press/Stamping

• Single or Multi Spindle Screw Machine

• Rotary Transfer


This position is available on Second Shift (2PM – 11:30PM) with a pay range of with a base pay of $18.50 - $20.00 for Machinist I, $23.00 - $26.00 for Machinist II, and $28.00 - $32.00 for Machinist III..  (Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Mandatory overtime as needed.


$2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview)



  • Operate machine(s) according to standard operating procedures
  • Operate machine(s) safely & communicates any problems to supervisor/lead
  • Meet production standards as set by department goals
  • Understand work orders and routings
  • Monitor the quality of work per Quality Assurance Inspection Procedure
  • If applicable, perform minor troubleshooting and PM of the equipment
  • If applicable, train and develop entry level machinists
  • If applicable, perform complex machine setups and advanced quality inspections on most machines in assigned area
  • If applicable, perform complex tool changes, and adjustments as necessary



  • High school diploma or equivalent



  • Manufacturing experience
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in blueprint reading
  • Ability to use measuring equipment such as; micrometers, calibers, height gauges, rulers, and tape measure
