POSITION OVERVIEW
dormakaba is seeking a Manufacturing Training Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for coordinating the development and delivery of training programs for manufacturing employees. This role will ensure that employees are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $70,000- $95,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for manufacturing employees, including machine operation, quality control, safety procedures, and process improvement
- Coordinate and oversee training efforts, ensuring that training materials are up to date, effective, and relevant to the needs of employees
- Facilitate safety-related training and ensure that employees comply with safety standards and regulations
- Ensure that employees have a positive onboarding experience, including the provision of necessary training and support.
- Assess training needs and develop training plans that align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Maintain training records and prepare reports on training activities and outcomes.
- Keep up to date with new training methodologies, techniques, and technologies, and incorporate them into training programs as appropriate.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to employees to support their ongoing development and improve their performance in the manufacturing environment.
WHAT WE REQUIRE
- 5 to 7 years of previous manufacturing experience
- 3 to 5 years of previous training facilitation experience, both on-the-job (OJT) and classroom
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong technical expertise in instructional design and delivery of manufacturing work instruction or standard operating procedures
- Microsoft Office: Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma: Previous experience as a student, leader, and practitioner of a continuous improvement discipline: lean principles such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to achieve continuous improvement, eliminate waste and maximize efficiencies and productivity
- 1 to 4 years of previous experience working with college vocational and high schools offering advanced manufacturing curriculum
- 1 to 4 years managing a successful apprenticeship or internship program for skilled trade positions
- 1 to 4 years developing cross-training and development ladders for hourly non-exempt manufacturing organizations
- Project Management: Previous experience managing projects from inception through post implementation
WHAT WE PREFER
- Fluency in Spanish
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, education, organizational development or business administration
- Certification in training and development such as Certified Manufacturing Specialist (CMS) or Certified Manufacturing Trainer (CMT)
