dormakaba is seeking a Strategic HR Business Partner (Lodging) in order to provide HR expertise and strategic leadership to achieve optimal business results for the organization. In collaboration with their client group’s leadership team, the Strategic Human Resources Business Partner develops and executes comprehensive talent strategies, initiatives and action plans that optimize organizational performance and effectiveness to deliver our customer first promise and achieve sustainable growth and profitability. This role will be responsible for deploying and leveraging COE (global and segment) programs and services for talent acquisition, talent management, training and development, compensation and rewards and recognition to drive employee engagement and enablement, optimize employee capabilities and performance.




  • Serves as partner, subject matter expert, advisor, sounding board and coach to client group’s leadership team, Americas HR team and dormakaba global teams
  • Brings high impact solutions and risk mitigation strategies to address people-related issues and challenges
  • Influences and advises on client group’s business decisions balancing employee advocacy with the needs and best interest of the business 
  • Leads complex cross functional HR Projects relevant to their client group or HR expertise to drive organizational effectiveness and business results
  • Ensures organizational success in complex business situations such as mergers, acquisitions, integration, major programs, and organizational redesigns
  • Collaborates with the client group’s senior leaders to develop and implement a talent optimization plan that the development of high performing teams and resources planning to maximize business performance  
  • Elevates talent development and contribution capabilities in collaboration with Talent COE by leading annual in-depth talent review and succession planning sessions with the leadership team (Talent Review, 9 Box, Succession Planning, Leadership Development Programs, etc.), then supporting the implementation of the associated development and coaching plans
  • Leads talent assessment and development for key roles and/or strategic hires for their client group 
  • Advises and coaches client group leaders on performance management opportunities (coaching, constructive feedback, playing to and leveraging individual and team strengths, and performance improvement plans to address gaps and under performance)
  • Leads activities, programs and initiatives to drive employee engagement
  • Evaluates and implements appropriate rewards and recognition programs for client group in collaboration with COEs and leadership team
  • Serves as the voice of the customer (employee) and advocate to organizational leaders
  • Implements and enforces human resources policies and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance and risk mitigation
  • Leads positive employee relations initiatives and activities
  • Ensures prompt, thorough and appropriate handling of employee complaints, issues, concerns and allegation in collaborations with COEs and legal




  • 10+ years of progressively responsible HR experience required, including with 4 years in an HR Business Partner capacity
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of senior level human resource experience with demonstrated success in creating and driving high impact initiatives/transformation
  • Previous experience integrating acquired businesses
  • Strong change management and business transformation background
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
  • Master’s degree in HR, Business, I/O Psychology, or other relevant field preferred
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification strongly preferred
  • Must be able to travel 30%

  • Well organized, having strong leadership and managerial skills, and the flexibility and adaptability to be able to change direction instantly to meet the dynamic needs of this growing, changing organization
  • Stays current on industry trends and HR best practices with a continuous learner mentality
  • Effectively works with others across a highly matrixed organization (within and outside of HR)
