POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Supplier Sustainability Specialist to join our Procurement team In Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for ensuring audits and assessments of supplier compliance to sustainability standards and the dormakaba Supplier Code of Conduct, and to support processes on supplier outreach and capacity building on sustainability, including information requests to suppliers.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Coordinates the launches of supplier sustainability assessments for the Region, validating supplier contact information, ensuring pre- and post-assessment communication to the supplier on related processes, and following up on corrective actions, assessment status and progress, and tracking KPIs (performance indicator) for the Region
  • Supports the development of and implementation of processes regarding Requests for Sustainability Information with suppliers and Procurement colleagues at local level, collecting results in Supplier Management and Information Systems, covering topics such as materials restrictions, recycled content, hazardous waste management, and minerals traceability.
  • Collaborates with Procurement staff to further develop and operationalize processes for supplier identification, vetting, business prequalification, contracting, and supplier relationship management as regards sustainability criteria
  • Develops relationships with key suppliers, including participating in supplier relationship management meetings, assisting with sustainability data collection and awareness raising of dormakaba’ s sustainability program
  • Develops materials to communicate with and educate Procurement staff on new process flows and supplier relationship management, including webinars, presentations, success stories, and interactive discussions
  • Participates in global networks such as the Responsible Procurement Steering Committee, and the Global Sustainability Working Group
  • Supports with the development of educational and inspirational outreach and training programs for supplier’s capacity building
  • Keeps abreast of best practice and upcoming regulations in terms of supply chain due diligence and suppler engagement

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in supply chain management, business administration, or similar
  • Working experience in sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing, with concrete achievements in sustainability, climate transition projects
  • Very good know-how of supplier sustainability audit and assessment standards such as SMETA, SA8000, EcoVadis, etc.
  • Concrete knowledge of supplier sustainability standards such as EcoVadis to carry the message on the benefit to the supplier
  • Ability to manage a large amount of supplier engagement working streams simultaneously without losing sight of the big picture
  • High level of negotiation and influencing skills to convince suppliers to participate in the sustainability program
  • High level of creativity to understand the process landscape and make suggestions for continuous improvements

  • Ability to remain organized and maintain effective time management skills
  • Desire to problem solve by demonstrating initiative and being proactive
  • Strong background in IT or Business
  • International experience (Group / Regional function)
  • Strong communication skills
