dormakaba is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our Indianapolis, IN Service team to provide technical product support of electro-mechanical products produced and marketed by dormakaba to the end-user. This role will be responsible for effective communications with internal and external customers when making recommendations and solving problems. 



  • Consults with appropriate field personnel to provide support, updates, and documentation as well as to assess the on-going effectiveness of the support structure
  • Based on the thorough knowledge of the product capabilities, work with appropriate field personnel to adapt product to specific needs of the customer. Makes suggestions and recommendations to customers and internal constituents for modifications and improvements
  • Receives and coordinates efforts to respond to specific technical product concerns from the field, acting as a liaison between various functional areas as needed
  • Demonstrates strong analytical, research and reasoning abilities in evaluating product returned from the field for unusual product wear, attack indications, or failure
  • Uses good judgment, to balance the needs of the customer and corporate good, when authorizing replacement product for warranty issues
  • Writes, prepares, and readies for distribution, an evaluation report of damaged or defective products returned by the field
  • Evaluates needs and requests from the marketplace for new products and enhancements, or modifications to existing products to determine feasibility
  • Regularly communicates field concerns to process owners and functional areas
  • Travels as needed when accompanying field personnel on sales, installation, and service calls as required to provide technical information and SSS factory representation on a proactive and reactive basis



  • Associate degree; technical and/or sales experience with dormakaba products preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) required
