Position overview


dormakaba is seeking a Regional Category Buyer to be a vital part of our business and future growth on our Procurement team for dormakaba Americas. This position is responsible for collaborating with segments and plants for category strategy development, initiative generation and supplier management



Primary duties


  • Develops category strategies and ensure implementation
  • Understands the specific category, its cost structure and supplier landscape
  • Develops and executes strategy
  • Defines KPIs to track the strategy realization and review compliance
  • Prepares, facilitates, and summarizes savings initiatives generated through workshops
  • Steers and executes category initiatives portfolio
  • Manages all milestones of the tool development
  • Manages suppliers and sourcing for regional category
  • Develops a consolidated demand forecast for the category
  • Recommends qualification of suppliers for an approved supplier list
  • Tenders and negotiates with selected suppliers
  • Manages supplier base, including all related aspects of supplier quality, performance management and commercial relationship
  • Agree with NPI sourcing decisions





  • Bachelors’ Degree in Business or Supply Management preferred.
  • 5+ year’s experience in procurement / supply chain management
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified in Production and Inventory Control (CPIM) preferred
  • Project Management experience
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively via multiple mediums, and within a group environment for business presentations
  • Working knowledge of SAP or MRP systems preferred
  • Excellent business management and presentation skills required
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
