dormakaba is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. This role is responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. The Manufacturing Engineer recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls and coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.



  • Develops and implements effective manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment
  • Drives resource planning for current and future projects; perform drafting and facility layout work to accommodate plant growth
  • Establishes manufacturing routings and processes by designating the operations required; the operations sequence; the tooling required, and the machines and equipment required
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
  • Incorporates engineering specifications into design, process, or techniques
  • Assists with the product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Works with vendors to determine product specifications, arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts
  • Evaluates production processes to determine the appropriate production rates for staffing requirements
  • Estimates future manufacturing requirements for expansion and replenishment capabilities
  • Researches cost reduction strategies, present findings to management for consideration and budget planning and implement approved strategies within budget
  • Reviews tooling and machining techniques; provide technical service to all departments and implements new methods and procedures when necessary
  • Coordinates activities with vendors and outside contractors (machine builders and tool engineers) when necessary to assure conformity with company standards
  • Designs and implements Lean manufacturing methods to optimize production processes



  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or technical discipline required
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; experience using logic-controlled equipment and AutoCAD desired
  • Extensive knowledge and experience developing and implementing LEAN processes; Black Belt or Green Belt Certification a plus
  • Experience with Automation, machine programming for routers and CNC machines
  • Experience working with ISO 9001 and 14001 systems preferred
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing and assembly processes
