New Project Introduction Buyer

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a New Project Introduction Buyer in our Procurement department. This role is responsible for driving down product cost and time-to-marketing during new product development. We are looking for the right candidate to manage sourcing for new product development and align with the respective company strategy before decisions are made for the appropriate vendors etc. for the new projects.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Drives down product cost and time-to-market during new product development
• Actively involved in product development process with R&D
• Facilitates design-to-cost discussions
• Recommends alternative/ already existing parts
• Aligns with respective category strategy/ manager before sourcing of specified parts
• Decides on supplier for specified parts during new product development according to respective category strategy
• Supports and execute procurement-related tasks during engineering change projects
• Tool replacement management Engineering notice management (ECN)
• Close collaboration with R&D and alignment with respective category leaders/managers
• In sourcing/out sourcing projects executed by NPI Buyer/Manager based on the Category Strategy (in alignment with the Category Leader/Manager)
• Searches for vendors providing new technologies (in alignment with the Category Leader/Manager)
• Performs other duties as assigned by Manager in support of departmental goals

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Management preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in procurement / supply chain management
• Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified in Production and Inventory Control (CPIM) preferred
• Project Management experience
