Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to join our Shipping & Receiving team in Indianapolis, IN. This role is responsible for daily planning, guidance, organizing and controlling the shipping activities to maximize productivity on assigned shifts as well as supervising the shipment operations and maintaining records of all pertinent documentation.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $65,000 - $87,000  (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) PRIMARY DUTIES

• Recommends improvements to reduce cost and drive productivity within the department while achieving site specific goals
• Supervises all phases of shipping operations including staging, picking, shipping, and assigned employees in scheduling and daily activities for performance management
• Maintains finished good inventory and product loss control and ensures safety/operational guidelines are met
• Establishes and monitors employees work schedules to meet needs of business and resolve work issues or assist in solving work problems
• Trains and instructs employees regarding work performed in shipping. Oversees instruction, implementation, and enforcement of policies as they relate to employees
• Collaborates with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and engages in requiring, planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and delegating activities
• Ensure timely staging, picking, shipping of material to the end customer or external plants, and shipping functions that are performed safety with established EHS procedures with shipping area being clean and organized
• Oversee and review the accuracy of shipping documentation in accordance with all trade compliance regulations

REQUIREMENTS

• BS/BA degree in business or related field preferred. High school diploma required
• Minimum 3 years experience supervising shipping/receiving or warehousing
• Extensive SAP experience shipping and transacting material
• Understanding of operations, inventory management, MRP (resource planning) and lean manufacturing processes
• Understanding of operating warehouse equipment and any necessary certifications
• Strong leadership skills, with excellent supervisory skills
• Experience in moving inbound and outbound freight and leveraging freight consolidation techniques
• Certification on Powered Industrial Vehicles
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
