Position Summary


The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, LGS AMER (FP&A) reports to the Canada Controller and is a key contributor to the Montreal Finance team, leading all monthly site reporting requirements, driving the budgeting and forecast process, and partnering cross functionally with senior leadership. The ideal candidate will have previous Finance and FP&A experience. The individual must possess excellent analytical and communication skills and be able to build strong working relationships with senior operating leaders.



Essential duties & responsibilities


  • Provide detailed recurring analysis of spend (forecast & actual) and initiatives including ROI modeling and variance explanations. 
  • Prepare reporting, oversee forecasting rhythms, and complete any ad hoc analysis required by local management.
  • Manage head count and associated costs for the site and ensure that changes follow the proper delegation of authority process.
  • Lead annual budget and planning processes for functional teams.  Partner with operating leaders to develop realistic financial plans aligned to operational goals.
  • Establish operating routines with partners including standard reporting, metrics, and rhythms.  Actively pulse business partners to monitor progress to monthly objectives.
  • Participate in process improvement projects to gain efficiencies in reporting and forecasting cycles.
  • Provide financial support for new initiatives and ad hoc data requests.
  • Participate and lead strategic projects aligned to our business and finance goals driving continuous improvement.  





  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and deliver results
  • Understand macroeconomic context and be able to identify impact on the course of business
  • Accounting principles (IFRS)
  • Demonstrated project management skills; ability to apply sound business judgment and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with self-confidence (Executive Management), advanced presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross functionally and across business boundaries to solve issues and drive projects to completion
  • Ability to work independently and to work with and support senior leaders
  • Hyperion HFM and SAP (and/or similar ERP system)
  • Database knowledge is an asset
  • Working knowledge in Business Intelligence (BI) report writing
  • Knowledge of capital investment activities and return on investment capabilities
  • Experience in multinational environment
  • Operational experience and costing background
  • Experience with Canada / Quebec income tax
  • Treasury exposure
  • Communicates easily, both orally and in writing, in both French and English.



Education and/or experience


  • University degree in accounting or finance, with CPA designation
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience, in a manufacturing company (preferred)
  • Demonstrated business partnering
