Mechanical Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Mechanical Engineer based in Chino, CA. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and development of mechanical and electromechanical products. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for new product development designs, product improvement and standardization, special customer requests, and internal test fixtures. They will also build and test engineering models as well as working prototypes.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $95,000 - $110,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Create and develop design concepts from product requirements and design specifications
• Customize existing products, sustain existing products and fixture designs
• Coordinate and perform validations
• Perform failure analysis and testing

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience
• Expertise in SolidWorks
• Excellent understanding of technical drawing conventions and GD&T ANSI/ASME- Y14.5
• Flexibility to work in an agile development environment with electrical and software engineers

WHAT WE PREFER

• Experience with Windchill PLM software or equivalent
• Experience with designing injection molded parts
• Ability to conduct failure analysis and use of SolidWorks Simulation FEA
• A strong mechanical background with working knowledge of one or more of the following: electronics, firmware, or control engineering
• Significant experience in the areas of motor drive systems and motion control (brushless DC motors, gears, shafts, belts, etc.)
