POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Production Planner to join our Production Control team in Chino. This position is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials between production cells and departments to guarantee accurate and timely execution of orders, to satisfy Customers’ needs.

 

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $ 70,000 - $ 85,000  (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Creates and maintains bills of material, routings, and work orders
  • Maintains MRP data to ensures proper stocking levels are kept and purchased parts and materials are delivered on time
  • Plans and prepares daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules. Coordinates with other planners to establishes sequence and leads time of each operation, to meets ship dates according to sales forecasts and customer orders
  • Plans sequence of fabrication and assembly for manufacturing
  • Confers with management team to determines status of assigned projects
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meets and accommodates to unforeseen condition, to avoids impact to our customers
  • Prepares production reports
  • Prepares purchase requisitions to obtains purchased parts and materials. Communicate outside service needs through work orders, requisitions, and reports
  • Completes status reports for production progress, work in process, and raw material inventory
  • Interacts with plant management and supervisory team daily, to resolves issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies and communicates status of orders as requested by Customer Service
  • Researches order and delivery discrepancies and resolves MRP related issues. Takes appropriate corrective actions to prevents issues and delays
  • Issues and releases work order packages (traveler) including work orders, drawings, instructions for manufacturing operations, quality checklists and required product identification labels
  • Stays informed of current projects, manufacturing workload, and manufacturing processes
  • Develops and achieves departmental/company goals and controls. Makes suggestions for improvement in areas of cost reduction, processes, quality, and productivity
  • Plans, releases and manages work orders for fabrication
  • Manipulates the plan to fit short term and long-term needs
  • Utilize ERP Computerize planning tools to determine monthly production requirements
  • Determines production needs, procure raw materials, and finish goods, and maintains targeted inventory levels

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with additional college credits or degree preferred in business or supply chain management 
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant production planning experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Experienced in forecasting inventory purchasing requirements
