Packing & Shipping Clerk

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Packing & Shipping Clerk position is a key part of the Production team responsible for an assortment of tasks within our made to order hollow metal frame and hardware lines. This position is filled by entry to midlevel people with experience in ensuring that the final products are ready for shipment by placing them into containers, sealing, and labeling the items.

This position offers a pay range of $13-$16/hr + OT and benefits. Regular working hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00AM – 3:30 PM.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspects unassembled materials to ensure proper finish, length, and shape as requested by the customer
• Assembles finished product by positioning of parts per requirements of the unit being assembled or by following shop drawings and quality control requirements
• Removes small quantities of metal with hand tools to produce a close fit between parts
• Performs minor tool changes and minor machine set-ups
• Operates material handling equipment
• Packs, weighs, and labels completed items for shipment or storage
• Uses forklift, pallet jacks, and other equipment to load/unload trucks
• Follows all company guidelines regarding packaging
• Properly use packaging materials, including hand tools, glues, nails, padding, etc.
• Loads and unloads material going through the paint line
• Performs quality checks quantities and product
• Maintains complete records of materials that go through the warehouse

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work with limited supervision
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in manufacturing or related field is preferred
