Reporting to the Legal Region Europe & Africa / Asia Pacific based in Germany/Switzerland, you will provide an efficient and effective legal service to the Australian and New Zealand business. You may also contribute to the broader APAC business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the contract review team to ensure customer contracts meet Group guidelines and reviews/customer negotiations are completed in a timely manner
- Providing legal advice across all areas of business law including Contractual, Terms and Conditions, Litigation, Employment and Real Estate law, with a strong knowledge of sales contracts
- Building a strong relationship with the Australia and New Zealand teams, Global functions and the broader APAC business
- Support the General Counsel Europe & Africa/ Asia Pacific to fulfill Group requirements and Global legal directives within day-to-day business
- Provide legal training for staff/managers
- Manage common law claims in conjunction with insurers
YOUR SKILLS
- You are an Australian qualified lawyer with a minimum of 3 years’ experience as in-house counsel ideally in a multi-national setting
- Experience negotiating with major product sales customers (including construction industry contracts) and service customers to achieve a win/win outcome
- You will be efficient, pragmatic and focused on providing quality service to the business
- Have the experience to manage legal risks to reduce the company’s risk profile
- Be able to manage contract administrators to ensure timely and accurate contract reviews
- An ability to analyze information in order to provide pre-emptive advice on legal challenges imposed by new products and digitization developments
- An ability to work in fast paced global matrix organisation
