Maintenance Technician I

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba has an opening for a Maintenance Electrician at our Hunstville facility! Pay rates start at $24/hr + OT and benefits.

The incumbent is responsible for installing, maintaining and repair facility services, branch circuits, electrical equipment and controls of varying design or complexity, including existing and new construction.  The Electrician is responsible for performing all work within federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for maintaining/monitoring electrical stock and parts inventory at appropriate levels to ensure facility work production
• Installs electrical systems and conduits as defined by customer or engineers
• Maintain and repair: AC and DC motors and control systems, Lighting systems, Transformers, Flame Control Systems, M.C.C./Switchgear
• Audit electrical systems for operational and safety conditions, identifying potential hazards and correcting them
• Responsible for performing pipe fitting installations and repairs, per regulated codes, in the manufacturing plant and general offices.  This will be done by following customer drawings and instructions

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical school in basic industrial electricity required
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
• State license preferred
• 3-4 years work experience in a manufacturing setting
• Must have a strong understanding of motor control circuits and electrical distribution circuits
