Position Overview

 

dormakaba is seeking an Operations and Human Resources Communications Specialist based in Indianapolis, IN (Onsite). The Operations and Human Resources Communications Specialist serves as the primary resource for bilingual (Spanish/English) operational and HR communications, including interpretation and translation. This role supports employee relations, coordinates leadership meetings, presentations, reports, meeting minutes, and action item tracking, and assists Human Resources Shared Services with employment eligibility and immigration documentation. Reporting to the Indianapolis Plant Manager, with a dotted-line relationship to the AVP, Human Resources Plant Leader, the position provides executive administrative support, confidential business services, and bilingual communication that enhances organizational effectiveness.

 

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $70,000 - $90,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.

What you will do

  • Provide executive administrative support to the Plant Manager by coordinating leadership meetings, preparing agendas, documenting meeting minutes, maintaining action item trackers, monitoring follow-up activities, and supporting strategic plant initiatives
  • Serve as the primary bilingual (Spanish/English) communications resource, delivering verbal interpretation and written translation for operations, Human Resources, employee relations, investigations, training, policies, and plant-wide communications.
  • Develop executive presentations, reports, dashboards, and business communications using Business Intelligence (BI) data and operational metrics to support leadership decision-making.
  • Support Human Resources through employee relations, onboarding, training, policy communication, employment eligibility verification, immigration documentation, and the confidential handling of sensitive employee information.
  • Partner with Operations, Human Resources, Environmental Health & Safety, Quality, and other functional leaders to coordinate communications, employee engagement programs, recognition events, and cross-functional initiatives while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What we require

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience providing executive administrative support, business communications, project coordination, or Human Resources support in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, Communications, Organizational Leadership, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience handling highly confidential business and employee information, coordinating leadership meetings, and preparing executive-level presentations, reports, and business communications
  • Advanced bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) with the ability to provide accurate verbal interpretation and written translation in professional business and Human Resources settings
  • Experience supporting employee relations, onboarding, employment eligibility verification, and immigration-related documentation is highly desirable

What we prefer

  • Professional Human Resources certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) 
  • Professional interpreter/translator training or certification (e.g., Bridging the Gap or equivalent)
  • Experience using ADP or other Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to support employee records, onboarding, reporting, timekeeping, or other HR processes
