POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking an AVP, Procurement (New Product Management) to join our Procurement department in Indianapolis, IN. This role will be responsible for leading and managing the new product introduction buyers to achieve project timelines and cost saving initiatives to help drive the company’s growth initiatives.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Leads and manages a team of new product introduction buyers
  • Achieves project timelines and cost savings initiatives
  • Reduces product cost and time-to-market during new product development
    • Actively involved in product development process with R&D
    • Facilitate design-to-cost discussions
    • Recommends alternative/ already existing parts
  • Manages sourcing for new product development
    • Aligns with respective category strategy/ manager before sourcing of specified parts
    • Decides on supplier for specified parts during new product development according to respective category strategy
  • Supports and executes procurement-related tasks during engineering change projects
  • Interfaces: Close collaboration with R&D and alignment with respective category leaders/managers
  • Searches for vendors providing new technologies (in alignment with the Category Leader/Manager)
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager in support of departmental goals

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Business or Supply Management preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement / supply chain management with NPI background
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified in Production and Inventory Control (CPIM) preferred
  • Project Management experience
  • Strong leadership and team member management skills
  • Strong understanding of development tollgate processes as part of NPI
  • Supplier relationship management skillset
  • Able to create process steps in the supply chain and meet critical product timelines
  • Able to implement lean supply chains and optimize total cost of ownership
  • Able to prioritize implement initiatives in a matrix organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing to travel 10-15% of the time as needed
