Assembler I

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6:00AM – 2:30PM) Assembler I based in Indianapolis, IN. The Assembler I is responsible for performing assembly and packaging tasks required in the manufacturing process.  

HOURLY HIRING RANGE: $16/hr. - $19.50/hr. plus mandatory overtime as needed (pay range to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). $2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Perform a variety of basic production and assembly processes
• Operate various production assembly machines, including the use of hand tools
• Inspect parts per our quality system and report any problems to the supervisor/lead person
• Pack finished product, including instructional sheets and any necessary hardware
• Cross-train to perform various functions within an assembly team

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• General assembly skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Use hands and fingers for seizing, holding, grasping, turning, etc. as well as for fine manipulation such as touching, picking, and pinching
• Communicate effectively by speaking and listening; use close/distance/color/peripheral vision, including using depth perception and adjusting focus
• Remain active throughout shift by standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and lifting/moving items up to 40 pounds
