POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Buyer II to join our Indianapolis Plant (Hybrid). The Buyer II will be responsible for supporting operational efficiency, cost optimization, and supplier performance. In collaboration with cross-functional teams, the Buyer II is responsible for maintaining lean inventory levels and adhering to quality and sustainability standards to meet the dynamic needs of the business. This critical role ensures seamless production flow by procuring high-quality materials, goods, and services that align with the facility's vertical product model and single-piece flow operations.

 

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $80,000 - $105,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Procure high-quality materials, goods, and services to ensure seamless production and minimal downtime
  • Manage supplier relationships to secure optimal pricing, lead times, and delivery reliability
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels using lean manufacturing principles
  • Conduct cost analysis and negotiate contracts to achieve savings while maintaining quality standards
  • Collaborate with internal teams to forecast material demand and align procurement strategies

 

WHAT WE REQUIRE

  • Associate’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain principles.

 

WHAT WE PREFER

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field with a Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM or CPIM.
  • Experience with lean inventory management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with supplier assessment and quality systems.
  • Knowledge of contracts and negotiation strategies.
