Cycle Counter

POSITION OVERVIEW:
dormakaba is seeking a Cycle Counter to join our Scheduling team in Indianapolis, IN. This position will be responsible for accurate verification of quantity of raw material, WIP and Finished Goods.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Generates counts through SAP system Cycle Count program or from Inventory Control Planner
- Physically counts each product as necessary to fulfill cycle count program requirements
- Submits counts to the Inventory Control Planner in a timely, legible and accurate fashion
- Assists the Inventory Control Planner in analysis and investigation of sizable variances from the perpetual inventory
- Works as a team with the Inventory Control Planner and other area supervisors to identify root causes and develop / recommend corrective actions
- In additional to correct counts, verifies that product is labeled correctly and in correct locations
- Verifies that all NCRs for Obsolete Inventory have been transacted in the system and that the product is physically removed from stock
- Utilizes forklift, pallet jack, and other material movement equipment in the process of cycle counting
CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS:
- Communicate verbally, reading, and writing in English. Basic language skills required. Individual must be able to communicate to all levels within the organization
- Basic math skills required; i.e. read a tape measure to the 1/32 of inch
- Individual must have ability to make independent decisions that may be of a complex nature. Must be able to assess multiple variables and consider the possible outcome
- Attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills
- Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Lotus Notes software. Advance Excel experience preferred. Must be capable of learning other software packages such as SAP
- Individual must possess the interpersonal skills communicate with coworkers
- Tabulate count data and provide reports to management
- Enter data through a PC in a timely manner
- Maintain a current forklift certification
- Maintain count records and data files
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma/GED preferred
- 2-3 years of similar experience preferred
- Associates degree a plus. Knowledge of Inventory and Part Identification / MRP systems a plus
