Financial Accounting Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW
dormakaba is seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to join our Finance team in Indianapolis. This position is responsible for providing guidance on general accounting topics. The ideal candidate will have strong financial accounting experience, including financial statement preparation and reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, variance analysis, internal control, and audit.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Manages and oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for the US Holding company, including journal entry preparation, and posting
- Coordinates and oversees monthly balance sheet review process, ensuring all balance sheet control accounts are reconciled properly and uploaded to SharePoint by all entities
- Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Researches technical accounting issues for compliance across all entities within the Americas
- Supports annual financial statement audit across all entities within the Americas
- Participates in process improvement projects to gain efficiencies in reporting and forecasting cycles
- Provides financial support for new initiatives and ad hoc data requests
- Participates in strategic projects aligned to business and financial goals driving continuous improvement
- Performs trend analysis on balance sheet accounts with significant balances, investigating any variance, and recommending corrective actions
- Supervises, mentors and coaches direct reports during the normal course of operation
- Acts as liaison between group accounting and the Americas accounting team, ensuring changes communicated by group are adopted and implemented on a timely manner
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor´s degree in accounting or finance
- Advanced degree and/or financial leadership program preferred
- Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, knowledge of Hyperion HFM and SAP a plus
- 5-7 years of relevant work experience
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
