Finishing Machinist

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6AM – 2:30PM) Finishing Machinist I, based in Indianapolis, IN. The Finishing Machinist I is responsible for meeting production standards without jeopardizing quality, reporting problems to the supervisor and assisting in solving them.

HOURLY HIRING RANGE: $18.56/hr. - $19.40/hr. plus mandatory overtime as needed (rate of pay to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Check the set-up of the machine to ensure proper operation
• Perform simple machine set-ups per production orders 
• Report any problems to supervisor 
• Perform duties and responsibilities as described in the quality system 

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to operate most finishing machines
• Ability to set up some machines independently   

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

• Consistently walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb
• Lift/move up to 40 pounds
• Communicate in a manufacturing environment
• Use close, distance, color, peripheral vision; perceive depth and adjust focus with or without correction
