Machinist I, II, III - 1st Shift

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking Machinists I, II, III for first shift. based in Indianapolis, IN.  This position is responsible for fabricating, repairing, and assembling metal parts by operating mechanical equipment.

dormakaba is seeking to hire Machinists in the following classifications:

Machinist I - Entry Level - Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.

Machinist II – Mid-Level - May also provide training to lower - level machinists. May require 1-3 years of related experience.

Machinist III - Experienced Level - Has gained mastery skills in multiple competencies relevant to the job. May require 4+ years of related experience.

This position is available on Third Shift (6:00AM – 2:30PM) with a pay range of with a base pay of $18.50 - $20.00 for Machinist I, $23.00 - $26.00 for Machinist II, and $28.00 - $32.00 for Machinist III.  (Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Mandatory overtime as needed.

$2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Operate machines according to standard operating instructions
• Operate machines safely & communicate any problems which arise
• Perform machine setups, tool changes, and make adjustments as necessary
• Monitor, maintain, weigh, and safely add chemicals as required
• Perform minor troubleshooting and PM of the equipment
• Understand work orders and routings and recommend changes as needed
• Monitor the quality of work per Quality Assurance Inspection Procedure (QAIP)
• Train and develop entry level machinists
• Perform daily 5S/housekeeping

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Extensive experience operating, setups, tool changes, etc
• Ability to perform advanced quality inspections
• Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds

WHAT WE PREFER

• Manufacturing experience
• 1 to 2 years’ experience in blueprint reading
• Ability to use measuring equipment such as; micrometers, calibers, height gauges, rulers, and tape measure
• Documented manufacturing education/training
• Understanding of shop math & blueprint reading/comprehension. GDT preferred
• SAP or MRP system knowledge preferred
