Machinist I,II

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6:30AM – 2:30PM) Machinist I, II based in Indianapolis, IN. The Machinist I, II is responsible for performing machine setups, tool changes, and adjusting as needed.

HOURLY HIRING RANGE: $18.56/hr. - $27/hr.  Mandatory overtime may be required as needed. (Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). WHAT YOU WILL DO

•         Follow operation instructions; operate machine according to standard operating instructions
•         Monitor and maintain equipment safely, load stock and empty scrap hoppers with fork trucks
•         Document and inspect quality of work per Quality Assurance Inspection Procedure (QAIP)
•         Load, setup, automate and transfer equipment into machine
•         Use micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and comparator

WHAT WE REQUIRE

•         High school diploma or equivalent
•         Extensive experience operating, setups, tool changes, etc. 
•         Understanding of shop math & blueprint reading/comprehension Geometric Dimensional and Tolerance (GD&T)
•         Experience using precision measuring instruments
•         Ability to perform advanced quality inspections

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

•         Use hands and fingers for seizing, holding, grasping, turning, etc. as well as for fine manipulation such as touching, picking, and pinching
•         Communicate effectively by speaking and listening; use close/distance/color/peripheral vision, including using depth perception and adjusting focus
•         Remain active throughout shift by standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and lifting/moving items up to 40 pounds
