Machinist II-3rd shift

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Third shift (9:30PM – 6:00AM) Machinist II based in Indianapolis, IN. The Machinist II is responsible for performing machine setups, tool changes, and adjusting as necessary. 

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $23/hr - $26.75/hr plus .75 shift differential and mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Operate the machine according to standard operating instructions (SOP)
• Document and inspect quality of work per Quality Assurance Inspection Procedure (QAIP). 
• Use micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and comparator
• Understand work orders and routings
• Meet production standards as set by departmental goals
• Follow all environmental, health, & safety EHS policies and procedures including use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Meet production standards as set by department goals
• Daily 5S/housekeeping

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• Extensive experience operating, setups, tool changes, etc.
• Understanding of shop math & blueprint reading/comprehension Geometric Dimensional and Tolerance (GD&T)
• Ability to perform advanced quality inspections 
• Professional communication skills

• SAP or Enterprise system knowledge
• Computer proficient and lean skills
• Documented manufacturing education/training
