Maintenance Mechanic - 3rd Shift

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a third shift (9:30PM – 6AM) Maintenance Mechanic based in Indianapolis, IN. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of mechanical machinery, including the design and manufacturing of certain machine components. 

HOURLY HIRING RANGE: $29.00/hr - $35.00/hr plus a .75 shift differential and mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Inspect, test, adjust, maintain, and repair all physical plant mechanical machinery.
• Complete necessary departmental documentation to support a preventive maintenance program
• Interface with other departments to ensure timely completion of repairs and routine maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them
• Ensure machine parts necessary to perform duties are on hand by periodically checking crib inventory stock levels, where applicable

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Solid math skills - normally associated with the completion of high school math sequence 
• Proven maintenance experience
• Ability to read blueprints, repair manuals, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
• Ability to respond in emergency situations involving machine operations and clearly evaluate problems under pressure
• Ability to take apart machines, equipment or devices to remove and replace defective parts
• Experience with personal computers

WHAT WE PREFER

• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
• 1-3 years’ experience in machine maintenance work or in related trade
