POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a third shift (9:30PM – 6AM) Material Handler I based in Indianapolis, IN. The Material Handler I is responsible for processing incoming products, recycling used/scrap raw materials and MRO items, using different types of material handling equipment to meet or exceed our internal customers’ expectations. This person will work closely with managers, supervisors, office, and factory personnel.

 

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $17/hr. - $19/hr. plus mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Operate material handling equipment including, but not limited to: lift trucks, pallet riders, air hoists, dock levelers, booms, fork extensions and storage racks
  • Ensure appropriate stocking levels are maintained without disruption to customers while partnering with other departments
  • Examine shipments at the time of delivery for damage, and verify the accuracy of information listed on packing slips, invoices, and bills of lading by visually inspecting the boxes, ensuring the accuracy of internal deliveries
  • Complete material movement transactions utilizing SAP via RF device or computer
  • Pull material parts from bins using a pick list and RF device to fill Transfer Orders (e.g., identify the specific part/lot number, quantity, and locations of all ordered items)
  • Manage oil recycling process and wastewater from washers, testing oil samples and absorbents while following company policy and OSHA requirements for shipment to outside processor

 

WHAT WE REQUIRE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess basic computer knowledge
  • Experience communicating effectively within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to be certified on a variety of warehouse equipment in accordance with OSHA and company policies
