Test Lab Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a Test Lab Technician based in our Indianapolis, IN manufacturing facility. The Test Lab Technician will be part of our product development organization and will assist in performing domestic and international testing, regulations, and certifications. This role supports project design teams by performing and reporting mechanical, electrical and environmental laboratory tests according to prescribed standards. The Test Lab Technician will report to the AVP, ANSI Door Hardware Compliance & Testing and help drive projects and testing requirements to successfully meet goals and commitments. 

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $50,000 - $60,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Set up, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation. 
• Test product or materials to applicable standards. 
• Perform complex tests according to prescribed procedures, record test results on standardized forms, and write test reports describing procedures used. 
• Gather data and organize test reports. 
• Maintain and manage test lab documentation including test reports, procedures, purchase orders, and calibration records.  
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, and supplies including inventory responsibilities. 
• Perform other duties as assigned by the AVP, ANSI Door Hardware Compliance & Testing 

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Experience with and knowledge of hand tool calibration 

WHAT WE PREFER

• Testing Laboratory experience
• Knowledgeable of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, safety procedures and good manufacturing practices
• Experience with pneumatic control systems, hydraulic control systems, electronic programming systems, Lab View programming and PLC programming
• Knowledge of ANSI/BHMA standards
• Knowledge of ASTM and UL testing procedures
• Knowledge of machining, 3D Printing processes
