Electrical Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Lexington, KY. This position is responsible for solving moderately complex technical problems, developing engineering designs, conducting analyses and experiments, and developing plans.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $95,000 - $110,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Develops new or improved systems, products, components, processes, methods, equipment, facilities, scientific applications, or improved production
• Frequently participates in product planning
• Negotiates interface decisions which affects and requires integration of own work into the related project. Documents work and assures timely communications to all affected areas
• Assures assignments are completed within schedule and cost objectives and alerts management of difficulties
• Provides and is accountable for moderately complex technical direction, often as a technical team leader
• Helps develop requirements for design
• Designs, develops, and tests micro-controller-based designs
• Performs schematic layouts and circuit analysis
• Performs life cycle development task
• Coordinates and manages regulatory conformance FCC, UL and others
• Prepares presentations, technical reports, and patent disclosures
• Maintains current knowledge of changes, advancements, and / or improvements within area of assignment or specialization and incorporates these improvements where applicable
• Attends technical conferences and meets with customers and others externally to exchange engineering/scientific information
• Makes presentations to project management and occasionally to higher level local management
• Keeps technically abreast of system functions that are required for successful completion of job tasks

REQUIREMENTS

• 4-year degree in electrical engineering or technology
• 3-5 years of work experience

• Aptitude for troubleshooting electronic circuits

• Experience with FCC regulations advantage
• Ability to travel 25% of time as work requires
