Saw Operator

POSITION OVERVIEW

dormakaba is seeking a 2nd shift (2:30PM – 11PM) Saw Operator based in its Reamstown, PA manufacturing facility. The Saw Operator is responsible for operating material handling equipment and performing machine preventive maintenance. The Saw Operator will perform minor tool changes and minor machine set-ups and will handle metal cutting saws and presses to assist in the production operations, from staging or gathering of material through the cutting of the material.

HOURLY HIRING RANGE: $20 - $25 plus mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Operate metal cutting saws, drill presses, and punching machines to assist in the material gathering through assembly operations
• Accurately locate materials in the warehouse and cut them to required lengths
• Inspect and prepare material prior to and following the sawing of material
• Position parts per requirements of the unit being assembled or by following shop drawings and quality control requirements
• Remove small quantities of metal with hand tools to produce a close fit between parts
• Perform minor tool changes and minor machine set-ups

WHAT WE REQUIRE

• High School Diploma and/or GED Certification
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Demonstrated mechanical abilities
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical drawings
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read a tape measure withing 1/32nd of an inch
