Head of IT Operating Model

We are seeking a seasoned and visionary senior professional with a strong entrepreneurial mindset or background to lead one of our global IT functions as the Head of IT Operating Model. It’s a hybrid of IT leadership, procurement, vendor management, and operational strategy, which is not typical in many IT roles.
This critical leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing our strategic sourcing initiatives, designing and implementing our operating model and sourcing governance, and driving sourcing and vendor management excellence. The successful candidate will also oversee the optimization of supplier and contract management, ensuring enhanced quality, efficiency, and value across all Global IT Business Services processes.
As our organization continues to expand its reliance on outsourcing for services and project delivery, we require a forward-thinking leader who can build on our existing foundation and elevate our capabilities to a world-class standard. This includes developing and executing a comprehensive strategy encompassing formulation, implementation, transition and transformation (T&T), and continuous improvement in contract and vendor management.

A job that matters: Your Tasks
- Global IT Capability Center Operating Model – Development and Implementation: You will be responsible for managing and advancing the Global IT Capability Center's service portfolio. This includes enhancing the maturity and professionalism of its offerings, promoting and positioning its services across the organization, and continuously optimizing delivery through automation, process improvements, and a robust governance framework. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring the Capability Center delivers scalable, high-quality, and value-driven services aligned with the strategic objectives of the Global IT organization.
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with our business goals. Manage large and specific outsourcing contracts, including financial terms, governance, resources, performance, quality, service integration, and KPIs. Ensure appropriate steering processes and resolve escalated issues in accordance with the Contract Steering.
- Manage Service Owners: Provide leadership and oversight to Service Owners responsible for supplier performance management, including adherence to SLAs and KPIs. This encompasses the effective operation of the Service Desk, Supplier Global Delivery Centers, and our Nearshore Center.
- Vendor Management: Oversee all aspects of vendor management, from selection and negotiation to performance monitoring and relationship building. Ensure compliance with company governance standards.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance procurement processes, leveraging technology and best practices to achieve optimal results. Implement dashboards and reports to support decision-making.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of sourcing professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Promote sustainable sourcing and outsourcing practices and support corporate initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including marketing, IT, and customer service, to ensure alignment and support for sourcing initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
- Sustainability and Compliance: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. Track KPIs to measure the effectiveness of sourcing strategies.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze data, supplier performance, and market trends. Conduct research to identify potential suppliers and sourcing opportunities. Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
An experience that matters: Your Skills
- Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology, business Administration or comparable experience.
- Minimum of 10 years proven experience in strategic sourcing, outsourcing, nearshore center management and procurement, in a global IT function
- Strong background in vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Ability to develop and implement effective sourcing strategies, governance structures, SLA and KPI frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- International experience (Group/Regional function) and the ability to think strategically and tactically while being hands-on.
- Fluency in English and a strong understanding of IT or business background at the Master level or equivalent experience.
