Global Category Manager (Electronics)

We are hiring a Global Category Manager (Electronics) to lead and execute global procurement and supplier strategies for key electronic components and systems. In this role, you’ll manage global category spend and serve as a strategic partner across cross-functional teams—working closely with stakeholders in engineering, operations, legal, and product management to deliver effective sourcing solutions on a global scale.
A job that matters: Your Tasks
- Lead and deliver high quality, innovative and market intelligence led category management across the Electronics area securing availability of goods and services.
- Drive and communicate global category targets in alignment with group objectives, ensuring regional alignment and KPI implementation in collaboration with the Regional Category Manager (RCM).
- Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for the assigned spend categories.
- Monitor global market trends, supplier performance, pricing developments, and product innovation to drive continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
- Act as the primary interface for all global suppliers within the category, developing and aligning supplier segmentation, classifications, and maintaining the Approved Vendor and Technology Lists.
- Build working relationships with key stakeholders, other category teams, global suppliers and external partners.
- Negotiate global contracts in alignment with RCMs and support RCM in contract negotiation if needed.
- Propose, lead, and execute global sourcing projects while supporting regional initiatives. Ensure projects deliver value, meet compliance standards, and follow procurement legislation.
- Execute professional global tenders including establishing and negotiating contracts according to the defined sourcing strategy for the Electronics category.
- Act as an escalation point for consistent and high impact supply chain constraints for the regions.
- Drive global synergy and spend coordination to create value and support regional teams, while leading efforts in standardization, harmonization, and transparency.
- Serve as the primary interface to global cross-functional teams (e.g., NPI, CVE, engineering, legal, quality, product management, etc.), acting as a communication leader to ensure optimal cross-functional cooperation.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field; Advanced qualifications would be a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar strategic sourcing role; experience in electronics or a related industry is a plus.
- Proven experience in:
- Strategic sourcing and professional tendering
- Supplier relationship and contract management
- Project management
- Procurement and product development processes
- Project and stakeholder management in a matrix organization
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
- Advanced negotiation and global contract management skills
- Deep understanding of electronic components and supply markets would be considered an advantage
- Excellent communication skills, especially with Operations and Suppliers
- Proficient in managing global suppliers and navigating cultural differences
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Team player with high social competence and the ability to motivate others
Languages
- Fluent English
- Additional European language, especially German, is an advantage
