Join our international Technical Content Services (TCS) team in Sofia as a Global Lead Terminologist. In this role, you will ensure consistency in multilingual terminology across all technical content, lead the company-wide terminology framework, and oversee UI validation and translations to ensure alignment with approved terminology.
A job that matters: Your Tasks
- Serve as the global lead for terminology development within the TCS department, curating a comprehensive, multi-lingual terminology framework for the company.
- Collaborate with Technical Writers, Visual Instruction Designers, Product Management, and other development teams to generate, validate, and implement new terminology entries.
- Provide global leadership in the development and maintenance of UI text standards, UI validation, and UI translation, ensuring adherence to established terminology guidelines.
- Manage UI text validation and translations for products without a dedicated Technical Writer, develop and maintain terminology entries, and support the TCS team as needed.
- Assist the TCS team in understanding and applying terminology best practices by creating reference materials and leading training sessions.
- Oversee the company's terminology management system, termXplorer, ensuring seamless system integration, tool enhancements, system updates, user access management, and user support.
- Lead the consolidation of terminology by migrating legacy data into a single, universal terminology database.
- Support the transition to dormakaba’s preferred UI management tool.
- Foster innovation in terminology management by implementing new technologies, such as AI-assisted terminology extraction, automated quality checks, and process optimization.
An experience that matters: Your Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, Technical Communication, or related field.
- Relevant training/certifications in terminology management, technical documentation, and translations.
- 3+ years of proven experience in terminology management, with a focus on developing and maintaining company-wide terminology frameworks.
- Native or bilingual proficiency in English and German (C2 required).
- Proficiency with terminology management systems, translation memories, and term extraction tools.
- Experience in technical documentation, ensuring consistent terminology across various content types (e.g., software, hardware, APIs).
- Experience in UI validation and translation processes is a plus.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
- Experience leveraging AI for terminology extraction, validation, or process automation is a plus.
