The Junior Financial Controller for dormakaba business services is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and reporting of the center, which provides various services to multiple business units within the organization. The Junior Financial Controller ensures that the shared services center delivers high-quality, timely, and accurate financial information and analysis, while complying with internal policies and external regulations. The Junior Financial Controller also supports continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives to optimize the performance and value of the shared services center. The dbs Junior Financial Controller works directly with Financial Controller of dbs and Global Finance. Position located at dbs center in Sofia, Bulgaria.
A job that matters: Your Tasks
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the center, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, payroll, tax, and treasury
- Coordinate and support the Financial Controller in the preparation and consolidation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports towards Global Finance
- Ensure compliance with national tax laws and filing requirements
- Monitor and enforce adherence to internal policies and procedures, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support in the development and implementation of internal controls and risk management strategies to safeguard the assets and data of the shared services center and the business units
- Analyze and interpret financial data and trends, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management and business partners
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process for the dormakaba business services and the business units, and report on variances and performance indicators
- Identify and propose process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of the shared services center
- Analyze and propose improvements to the accounting policies and procedures manual
- Liaise and coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and vendors as needed
An experience that matters: Your Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- At least 3 years of experience in finance and accounting or controlling function
- Experience in a Finance SSC/GBS is preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software and systems
- Strong knowledge of local legislation, statutory, and tax
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across different locations and cultures
- Strong knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Experience with SAP is an advantage
- Fluent in English and Bulgarian
