Mechanical Designer

An experience that matters: Your Skills

• 3+ years of work experience as a Mechanical Designer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Component Designer, Product Design Engineer or Mechanical Engineering Designer.
• Experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM is an asset.
• Strong understanding of mechanical component design principles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
• Experienced in identifying and resolving design and production issues.
• Ability to analyze technical data and make informed design decisions.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems for data management.

A job that matters: Your Tasks

• Designs and develops mechanical and electromechanical components, using mainly CAD and a variety of engineering tools. Can act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
• Creates and modifies individual parts, assemblies and associated production drawings (using CAD systems – SolidWorks experience preferred) according to sufficiently detailed specifications (e.g. sketches, drafts, design data); creates views, sections, penetrations, etc., checks for plausibility and defines standard tolerances.
• Creates and modifies SAP basic data and parts lists on the basis of existing assembly structures.
• Generates Bills of Material and enters them into ERP system as required.
• Creates and modifies technical documents and prepares content for product documentation.
• Develops components ready for serial production and/or standard/ library components.
• Collaborates with other teams, such as hard- and software development, testing, production engineering, purchasing and product management.
