The Production Planning Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating production schedules for both custom solutions and standard products. This role involves close collaboration with procurement, engineering and manufacturing teams, while overseeing supply chain and logistics operations to ensure timely delivery, optimal resource use, and cost efficiency, all while maintaining high-quality standards.

- Production Planning
- Develop and manage production schedules to ensure timely delivery of all products, balancing flexibility to meet varying lead times and specifications.
- Ensure efficient and effective production planning that optimizes output across all product lines.
- Capacity and Resource Management
- Analyse and manage production capacity to ensure optimal utilization of machines, equipment, and labour.
- Adjust resources and workload to meet production priorities and demand fluctuations.
- Process Optimization
- Identify opportunities to streamline production processes and improve overall efficiency across all product categories.
- Implement lean manufacturing techniques to minimize waste, reduce lead times, and maintain high-quality standards.
- Material and Inventory Management
- Oversee the supply chain department and collaborate with procurement to ensure materials and components are available when needed to support production plans.
- Monitor inventory levels, utilizing just-in-time strategies to prevent material shortages or overstocking.
- Collaboration and Cross-Functional Communication
- Serve as the key point of contact between production, supply chain, engineering and sales teams to ensure alignment on production schedules and product availability.
- Proactively communicate production status, delays, or adjustments to all relevant stakeholders and offer solutions to mitigate any disruptions.
- Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting
- Address production bottlenecks or disruptions and implement corrective actions to minimize the impact on delivery timelines.
- Ensure continuous improvement in resolving issues that affect production efficiency or quality.
- Reporting and Performance Analysis
- Track and analyse production performance metrics, including lead times, efficiency rates
- Provide regular reports on production performance, capacity utilization, and demand forecasts for management review.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure all production processes comply with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with QHSE team to maintain high product quality and meet specifications.

- Production Planning Expertise: Strong knowledge of managing both bespoke and standardized production processes.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to balance diverse production requirements and solve issues promptly.
- ERP Proficiency: Experience in using ERP systems to manage custom orders and standardized production lines (e.g., SAP).
- Cross-Functional Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, engineering, procurement, and production teams.
- Process Optimization: Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, particularly in reducing waste in custom production
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of production planning experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with both custom and standardized production.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems for production planning and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- English Language Proficiency – B2
