The Hybrid Cloud ERP & Subsystems team leads the end-to-end delivery, including operational support, of SAP Basis and Application Retirement solutions within dormakaba. This includes SAP solutions in outsourced managed data centers as well as cloud-based solutions. The team is responsible for infrastructure, servers, databases, and SAP Basis management supported by external service providers.


To reinforce the team, we are looking for a Technical Project Manager and Operations Coordinator. 


Focus Areas:

Focus areas are given to individuals to explain which areas they will be the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for.

  • Manage a SAP Basis migration project of 200 SAP SIDs to different new platforms.
  • Design and implementation of SAP Basis architecture within all dormakaba infrastructure domains.
  • Management of external Service Providers (SAP Basis operations) 



A job that matters: Your Tasks 

  • Responsible for coordinating activities within maintenance windows and establishing/changing maintenance windows with the Application Owners. The maintenance activities include the below:
    • SAP Basis 
    • OS, DB and SAP updates (patches)
    • Required actions from our Security Operations Center (SOC)
  • Coordinate the decommissioning of SAP servers and databases.
  • Produce Dashboards and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports to track improvements and performance compared to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Maintain and report on data quality within our server and database inventory. 
  • Project Management of projects related to SAP Basis and Application Retirement. Examples include:
    • Projects to migrate SAP solutions to a new data center.
    • Support the rollout of global SAP solutions.
    • Coordinate the migration of read only legacy systems to an application retirement cloud solution.
    • Continuous Improvement initiatives for the Hybrid Cloud SAP team.
    • Projects related to the server and database inventory to improve our KPIs, reduce manual effort/risk of manual error or increase automation.
  • Coordinate Backup and Recovery tests. 
  • Support other teams and their projects when SAP servers or database are involved.
  • Be part of the Operations teams and create documentation, coordinate externals, hands-on operation.
  • Support the Architecture team: Support all activities to promote thecontinuous improvement of infrastructure and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and services through both incremental and innovative technological changes.
  • Support security and risk initiatives.
  • Develop our solutions in accordance with a 24x7 operations model.


An experience that matters: Your Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in SAP Basis project management.
  • 3+ years of experience in SAP Basis operations.
  • 3+ years of experience in coordination of external service providers.
  • 1+ years of experience in CIS hardening is desirable. 
  • All communications are in English Language. German language skills are nice to have but not required. 
  • Project management experience or knowledge is highly desirable e.g., PMP or PRINCE 2.
  • Experience working in a team environment to deliver global projects in a hybrid environment with external partners.
  • Expertise in SAP ERP; S/4; BTP; MES; EWM; BI, transition & migration as well as patch & upgrade procedures. 
  • Basic knowledge of HANA; ASE and MaxDB databases to understand and assess transition and migration proposals.
  • Certified in ITIL v3/v4 foundation is preferable. 
  • Knowledge of IT Information Security Management ISO 27000 Series is preferable.
  • 1+ years Experiences in Agile Methodologies like DevOps, Scrum, SAFe is desirable.
