Service & Commissioning Engineer - Access Control

The Installation & Service Team are responsible for the installation, service, and commissioning of the dormakaba Access Control Solutions (ACS) and Entrance System Control (ESC) hardware solutions.


Within this team, we are now recruiting for a Service Engineer who will be responsible for the preventative and reactive service of the security hardware products, along with commissioning processes across our product portfolio, which include Revolving Doors, Pedestrian Speed gates, and Turnstiles.




  • Servicing customer equipment, through preventative and reactive channels to support our customers’. This will include travel to customer sites, throughout the UK.

  • As an Engineer, you will work with customers on site, over the phone and via email and so you will be expected to provide excellent customer service and technical support.

  • Using our internal systems, you will be expected to maintain accurate service data, ensuring we continually hit and meet customers service agreements.

  • Ensure all Health and Safety guidelines are followed and adhered to, completing all relevant assessments and training.  

  • As a Service Engineer, you will be an active and proactive member of the Access Control team, working closely and positively to ensure that the growth aspirations of the business unit.





  • We are looking for an Engineer with a knowledge of basic electronics, electrical theory, principles of microprocessor-controlled equipment and multi-meter instruments. As well as a basic knowledge of control systems, electrical wiring, and diagnostic capabilities.

  • All training on our products will be provided, but a prior knowledge of our industry products would be desirable.

  • As our Engineers have regular interaction with our customers, you must have excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written combined as well as be able to demonstrable good attention to detail and be a competent user of IT systems,

  • In addition, you would also need a full UK license and due to the nature of the role, and sites we visit, all successful candidates would be expected to pass a DBS clearance.
