WHAT YOU WILL DO

 

  • Full-stack development of new products
  • Full-stack maintenance development of existing products
  • Work with team leads and product managers to plan and assign work items.
  • Work with the technical support team when troubleshooting issues on released software.
  • Gather data and analyze the business challenges alongside subject matter experts.
  • Drive evidence-based decision-making that helps design a new process.
  • Schedule routine check-in meetings with your supervisor to monitor the advancement of assigned projects.
  • Attend weekly lunch and learn sessions where you will get to learn more about a business topic of the week! Some examples of past topics include: Top 10 Presentation Skills, Environmental Health and Safety, StrengthsFinder, etc.
  • Deep dive into data and use evidence-based decision making that helps design a new process, introduce new technology, re-imagines the way we collaborate, or positively influences our culture.
  • Sit in on meetings both within and beyond your designated role to broaden your engagement.
  • Collaborate with other interns on projects.

 

WHAT WE REQUIRE

  • Current enrolment in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar degree
  • Minimum academic experience in firmware design and development ideally in one or more of the following technologies, practices, and environments.
  • Experience working with C/C++, Python, and/or other Object-oriented programming/scripting languages.
  • Experience with embedded testing processes
  • Experience with 32-bit microcontroller and low power management (ARM) and working with IAR or other embedded IDEs along with experience working with different RTOS systems.
  • Working knowledge of Electronics, microcontrollers, PCBs-common components
  • Familiar with E2Studio or Eclipse
  • Familiar with Renasas chipsets
  • Familiar with any RTOS – (Azure preferred) but any platform exposure is good.
  • Exposure to any communication protocols (Serial/485 preferred)
  • Familiarity with debugging of embedded and non-embedded systems
  • Ability to read schematics and data sheets.
  • Agile/Scrum process and applied firmware development best practices.
  • DevOps
    • Azure DevOps experience preferred.
    • Atlassian Jira/Bitbucket/Confluence experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work full-time, 35 hours per week for 10-12 weeks (May-August 2025)
