dormakaba Bulgaria is looking for an Application Engineer supporting our manugacturing process.
What you will do
Technical Documentation & Customization
- Develop detailed 2D CAD drawings (AutoCAD) and shop floor packages tailored to each project.
- Create accurate, production-ready technical documentation for standard and customized orders.
- Support one-off modifications to existing product designs, including material selection, structural assessment, and feasibility review.
Production Support
- Act as a subject-matter expert for the production team, ensuring they fully understand technical specifications and drawings.
- Provide on-the-floor technical clarifications and input during complex builds or first runs.
- Support internal training initiatives related to new designs, products, or production procedures.
Engineering Quality & Process Compliance
- Ensure all documentation complies with engineering and industry standards, including safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Follow established workflows and maintain data integrity in document control systems (including ERP integration).
Safety, Environmental & Regulatory Compliance
- Adhere to occupational health and safety, environmental, and technological requirements.
- Follow all company rules, standards, and procedures to ensure safe and compliant operations.
- Maintain consistent product quality through disciplined process adherence.
Warranty & Technical Feedback
- Analyze technical claims or complaints during the product warranty period, determine root causes, and provide corrective recommendations.
- Use lessons learned to improve future documentation and product design quality
- Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.
- Comply with all applicable health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, and report any unsafe conditions or incidents.
What we require
- Experience: 2–5 years in a technical engineering or manufacturing environment, ideally with exposure to custom product workflows or batch manufacturing
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- CAD Expertise: Proficient in 2D AutoCAD; familiarity with 3D CAD systems is a plus.
- ERP Knowledge: Experience working with ERP systems for order and BOM tracking (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Computer Skills: Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word.
- Language & Communication Skills: Fluent in English (written and spoken); German is a strong advantage.
- Ability to explain complex technical information clearly to non-technical teams.
- High attention to detail and accuracy
