Position Overview
The Facility Manager is responsible for the overall management, maintenance and continuous improvement of the plant facilities, buildings, infrastructure, utilities and related workplace services. The Facility Manager coordinates technical facility maintenance, statutory inspections, external service providers, facility-related projects and cost control
What you will do
Facility Infrastructure and Technical Operations
- Manage the daily operation and maintenance of plant buildings, offices, common areas, warehouses, external areas and technical infrastructure.
- Ensure reliable availability of utilities such as electricity, water, heating, ventilation, compressed air, lighting, access systems, fire protection systems and other facility related systems.
- Plan, coordinate and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities related to the facility.
- Ensure fast response and resolution of facility related breakdowns, technical issues or service interruptions.
- Maintain the plant premises in good working condition, ensuring safety, functionality and professional appearance.
- Identify facility risks and propose technical improvements to support operational efficiency and business continuity.
Compliance, Health, Safety and Environment Support
- Ensure that all statutory inspections, permits, technical documentation and mandatory checks related to the facility are completed on time.
- Coordinate facility related compliance activities in line with local legislation, internal standards and audit requirements.
- Work closely with HSE to ensure safe workplace conditions, emergency preparedness, fire safety and environmental compliance.
- Support risk assessments, safety inspections and corrective actions related to buildings, utilities, workplace conditions and external service activities.
- Ensure proper documentation and records for audits, inspections and management review.
- Monitor compliance of external contractors with safety and site rules
Supplier, Service and Workplace Management
- Coordinate and monitor external service providers, including cleaning, security, waste management, landscaping, canteen, pest control, repairs and other facility services.
- Define service requirements, monitor service quality and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Support supplier selection, contract follow-up and performance evaluation in cooperation with Procurement.
- Act as main point of contact for facility-related requests, escalations and service topics.
- Ensure that workplace services support employees, visitors and business needs in a professional and cost-effective way.
- Coordinate office moves, workplace changes, meeting room readiness and general site support services where applicable.
Facility Projects, Budget and Continuous Improvement
- Oversee the effective operation, monitoring and performance of the Building Management System (BMS) to ensure optimal control of all facility technical functions.
- Plan and coordinate facility-related projects such as renovations, layout changes, infrastructure upgrades, expansions and workplace improvements.
- Prepare, monitor and control facility-related operational and investment budgets.
- Track facility costs, identify cost-saving opportunities and improve resource efficiency.
- Monitor energy and utility consumption and propose improvement actions.
- Prepare facility reports, project updates, cost analyses and improvement proposals for plant management.
- Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.
- Comply with all applicable health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, and report any unsafe conditions or incidents.
What we require
- Minimum 5 years of experience in facility management, technical building management, industrial maintenance, construction coordination or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
- University degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Construction, Technical Operations or similar field
- Good knowledge of building infrastructure, utilities and technical systems.
- Understanding of statutory inspections, fire safety, workplace safety and environmental requirements.
- Experience in supplier and contract management.
- Budget planning and cost control skills.
- Practical, hands-on and solution-oriented approach.
- Good command of English would be an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and react quickly to operational issues.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
