Job Description
Frontend Engineer - SAP Commerce Cloud
Sofia
8/25/26

Position Overview

The Frontend Engineer builds and maintains the storefront of a highly complex, 100% tailor-made SAP Commerce / SAP Commerce Cloud platform with extensive third-party and interface integration. The role is hands-on and works with strong AI support: an AI coding agent accelerates code generation while the engineer remains accountable for adapting, correcting, testing, securing, and owning the implementation. The role combines modern Angular and Spartacus or composable storefront engineering with a strong focus on customer experience, commerce processes, API integration, accessibility, performance, and maintainable frontend architecture.

What you will do

  • Build, extend, and maintain the SAP Commerce / SAP Commerce Cloud storefront using Angular, Spartacus, and composable frontend patterns.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into intuitive, responsive, accessible, and tested customer-facing experiences.
  • Integrate storefront features with SAP Commerce OCC APIs and connected services for catalog, search, pricing, promotions, cart, checkout, customer accounts, orders, payments, tax, and availability.
  • Design and implement reusable components, feature modules, state management, routing, forms, error handling, and frontend integration patterns.
  • Work hands-on with an AI coding agent, then review, adapt, refactor, debug, and harden generated code to meet quality, performance, accessibility, and security standards.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, solution architects, UX or business stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Troubleshoot storefront issues and optimize loading performance, runtime stability, and observability.
  • Contribute to frontend standards, automated testing, code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of AI-supported delivery.

What we require

  • Minimum 4–6 years of hands-on frontend development experience, ideally in e-commerce or digital commerce.
  • Strong professional experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Angular, HTML, CSS, responsive design, and modern frontend engineering practices.
  • Good understanding of product and category navigation, search, pricing, promotions, carts, checkout, customer accounts, order history, and transactional flows.
  • Experience building reusable UI components, forms, validation, routing, state management, and third-party integrations such as payments, tax, search, or customer services.
  • Strong skills in automated frontend testing, debugging, browser developer tools, accessibility, secure coding, performance optimization, and code quality.
  • Ability to own frontend features end-to-end and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • English – Business fluency.

What we prefer

  • Practical experience with SAP Commerce / SAP Commerce Cloud storefronts, preferably SAP Spartacus or another composable storefront approach.
  • Experience with SAP Commerce OCC APIs, authentication and session flows, API contracts, data mapping, error handling, and backend service integration.
  • Knowledge of SAP Commerce Cloud integration patterns and highly connected enterprise commerce landscapes.
  • Experience with design systems, component libraries, responsive and accessible UX, internationalization, and multi-site or multi-language storefronts.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Git-based development, visual or end-to-end testing, performance budgets, and frontend observability.
  • Experience working in agile product teams and international, highly integrative environments.
