A Master key Coder plays a critical role in the development and management of master key systems. This position is responsible for designing, maintaining, and allocating coding structures that keep systems organized, secure, and scalable. You’ll ensure full traceability across keys and cylinders while supporting both operational and customer-facing teams.

 

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain keying matrices, ensuring room for system expansion while understanding the mathematical constraints of each locking platform
  • Maintain exceptional accuracy in data entry for keying matrices, door schedules, and key orders
  • Manage detailed record keeping and file organisation to support system integrity
  • Assist with coding and data entry for new master key systems
  • Process key and door orders for existing systems, including replacements for lost or stolen keys
  • Interpret architectural drawings and floor plans to determine access pathways within buildings
  • Ensure correct key code selection to maximise both security and future expansion capability
  • Support sales staff, provide customer phone support, and assist the MKS Product Manager
  • Deliver guidance to customers and internal teams on master keying concepts and systems
  • Uphold strict security protocols and ensure all processes are followed to maintain system integrity

 

What we require

  • Strong pattern recognition skills
  • Proven coding capability and logical problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy in data entry and record management 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills 
  • Ability to analyse and interpret structured data, architectural drawings, and layouts
  • Experience with or willingness to learn multi-level master key systems
  • Strong communication skills for both internal collaboration and customer support
  • Experience using ProMaster 8 for data entry and system coding (desirable)
  • Previous experience in locksmithing, security, or access control environments (desirable)
