We are seeking an experienced and influential Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to lead and execute our HSE strategy across Australia and New Zealand. Based in our Head Office in Melbourne and reporting to senior leadership, this pivotal role will provide national oversight across our Operational sites, Service function, Installation process and Sales.

As the HSE leader for Australia and New Zealand, you will lead a small team of Health & Safety Business Partners, providing coaching, mentorship, and direction to ensure consistent delivery of HSE initiatives. You will partner closely with operational leaders, branch managers, field technicians, installers, and key stakeholders to build a proactive health & safety culture, ensure legislative compliance, drive continuous improvement initiatives that protect our people and support business performance and ensure our environmental footprint is continually minimised.

 

What you will do

  • Lead the HSE strategy across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Build the strategy for HSE that drives ongoing improvement in performance.
  • Manage and support a small team of Health & Safety Business Partners.
  • Drive a positive and proactive safety culture across the business.
  • Partner with leaders across the business to improve safety performance and reduce risk.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and company standards.
  • Develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Drive capability of incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Monitor HSE performance and provide regular reporting.
  • Implement plans and execute obtaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
  • Deliver safety training, coaching, and awareness programs.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Lead environmental and sustainability initiatives.
  • Promote employee wellbeing and safety engagement.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the business.

 

What we require

  • You are a strategic and hands-on HSE leader with experience managing safety professionals and driving safety performance across multi-site operations and service function. You excel at building relationships, developing teams, influencing leaders, and creating practical solutions that deliver meaningful outcomes.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 8–10 years' experience in Health, Safety & Environment leadership roles within manufacturing, construction, industrial, service, or related industries.
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring, or managing Health & Safety professionals within a multi-site environment.
  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading HSE programs across multiple sites and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement safety management systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified management systems.
  • Strong incident investigation, risk management, and hazard identification capabilities.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, coaching, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing abilities.
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with operational execution in a fast-paced environment.
