Position Overview

 

dormakaba is seeking a Buyer III based onsite in Indianapolis, IN. The Buyer III is responsible for in ensuring seamless production flow by procuring high-quality materials, goods, and services that align with the demands of a vertical product model and single-piece flow operation. This position supports operational efficiency, cost optimization, and supplier performance to enable consistent delivery of value to customers while maintaining lean inventory levels and adhering to quality and sustainability standards.

 

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $90,000 - $110,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.

 

What you will do

  • Procure high-quality materials, goods, and services to support vertical product models and single-piece flow operations, ensuring seamless production with minimal downtime
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure optimal pricing, lead times, and delivery reliability, while addressing and resolving disruptions such as quality issues or delayed deliveries
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels using lean manufacturing principles to prevent overstock or shortages, aligning with production demand
  • Conduct cost analysis, negotiate contracts, and identify new suppliers to achieve cost savings, diversify the supply base, and mitigate risks related to single-source dependencies

 

What we require

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in purchasing or related fields, with demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and support production operations
  • Associate’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience



What we prefer

  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) or training in procurement, supply chain management, or ERP systems
